Title: Stop the Bleed: Bleeding Control
Instructor: Office of Emergency Preparedness
Location: T&D, rm C
As a part of a national initiative, the University of Georgia Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) is coordinating campus efforts to help Stop the Bleed. Stop the Bleed is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. The Office of Emergency Preparedness will teach attendees ways to control massive bleeding including using a tourniquet and packing a wound.
